Buying a Tata Nexon petrol-automatic

I am impressed by the Tata Nexon and I want the petrol-automatic. However, a lot of users seem to be facing issues with the car, like the steering locking during U-turns, engine oil leaks, etc. I’m now concerned about the reliability. Is it a good buy, or should I wait for the January 2020 facelift?

Mukesh, Kozhikode

We have not heard of these issues being rampant but the Nexon does have some niggling issues and it’s not the most reliable in its class. However, for the money, you won’t get a cheaper or better value petrol-automatic compact SUV. So if you are limited by budget, then wait for the Nexon facelift, which will be much improved over the current model.
