TVS Ntorq 125 sales cross 3.5 lakh mark

The TVS Ntorq 125 has crossed a new milestone, with over 3.5 lakh units sold in just 19 months. Targeted at the millennial buyer, the TVS Ntorq had launched in February 2018 and has set sales charts on fire ever since. The 125cc scooter has consistently sold in big numbers, crossing the 1 lakh unit sales mark seven months after it had launched. Sales of the scooter continue to rise despite the current sombre market sentiment.

In September 2019, TVS sold 27,814 units of the Ntorq, up from the previous month’s 25,578 units. Recently, the company also introduced the Ntorq Race Edition. The new model features an LED headlight with a T-shaped, diffused LED DRL and a unique colour scheme. While the body panels get red, black and silver colour options, the scooter also gets chequered-style decals on the front apron and side panels. The Race Edition’s footboard gets a red finish instead of the regular black plastic finish on the standard scooter. It also features a hazard light. This version of the Ntorq costs Rs 3,000 more than the standard model.

The Ntorq is powered by a 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 9.4hp at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The scooter comes with several features including the TVS SmartXonnect, which offers Bluetooth connectivity with the rider’s mobile phone (via a mobile app), thus providing navigation assist, location assist, call and SMS alerts, rider stats and several other features.

The scooter has won a number of accolades including the Scooter of the Year title at the Autocar Awards 2019.
