BMW introduces new digitised aftersales service

BMW has introduced a new app-based aftersales service called BMW Smart Video. The new initiative aims to make the service process more transparent and convenient for owners and also improve turnaround at service centres.

As per the company, the new app-based service allows their technicians to record videos explaining the extent of repairs required or the parts that need to be replaced, and then share it with the owner of the car along with a quotation. The customer can view the video, and based on the explanation of the technician, sign off on the extent of work required over the app itself.

Speaking on the new service, Rudratej Singh, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, “Trust and transparency are the core BMW values that naturally extend in all our customer interactions. Leveraging new-age digital solutions, we are building numerous services and solutions to further enhance interaction between our customers and their beloved machines. BMW Smart Video is a fine example of how an innovative solution helps our customers.”

The carmaker says that its new service has already benefitted over 10,000 of its customers in the country.

The Smart Video service is available in 50 countries across the globe, including USA, the UK, and Australia.
