BS6 Suzuki Burgman Street launched at Rs 77,900

Suzuki has just launched the updated, BS6 iteration of its Burgman Street at a price of Rs 77,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) – a hike of Rs 6,900 over the BS4 model. The bike maker also tells us that deliveries of the scooter have started across the country.

The BS6 update includes the addition of fuel injection to the Burgman Street’s 124cc single-cylinder engine and it now produces 8.7hp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm at 5,500rpm. For reference, the BS4 Burgman Street produces peak output figures of 8.7hp at 7,000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. Other updates include the addition of an integrated kill switch and engine start button that features Suzuki’s ‘Easy Start System’. The system requires you to just click on the starter button once to start the scooter (and not hold it down, like before).

The new Burgman is also available in a new Metallic Matte Bordeaux Red colour scheme in addition to the existing Metallic Matte Fibroin Gray, Pearl Mirage White, and Metallic Matte Black colour schemes.

At Rs 77,900, the Burgman happens to be nearly Rs 3,500 more expensive than the top-spec Activa 125 Disc that has a more comprehensive feature list.

Suzuki also showcased the Burgman Street in a MotoGP livery at Auto Expo 2020 and that it will go into production depending on customer interest.
