BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F priced at Rs 1.16 lakh

Bajaj dealers have begun accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant Bajaj Pulsar 220F. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,16,263, making it around Rs 8,000 more expensive than the older model that was priced at Rs 1,08,326 (ex-showroom). Its on-road cost, meanwhile, is closer to Rs 1.40 lakh.

According to sources, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F looks identical to the BS4-compliant model. The only changes on the new bike are to the fuelling method and to the exhaust system. For 2020, it uses a fuel-injection system instead of a carburettor, along with an exhaust system that’s more efficient. Bajaj hasn’t yet revealed the specifications of the BS6-compliant 220F, but considering how almost every other bike that has made the transition has witnessed a slight drop or gain in power and torque figures, we expect the same here.

For reference, the BS4-compliant 220F makes 20.9hp at 8,500rpm and 18.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Despite its age, the Pulsar 220F still remains one of the most popular entry-level motorcycles in the market, and the BS6 update also hints that Bajaj has no plans to withdraw the bike from our market anytime soon.
