Hyundai dealers have begun accepting bookings officially for the carmaker’s next product, the Aura compact sedan, which will see a market launch on January 21, 2020.
The Hyundai Aura sedan will come with three engine options and 12 variants. First up, will be a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that’s good for 83hp and 113Nm of torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Then there will be a CNG version too. Additionally, the Aura will also get a 100hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that will be available with a sole 5-speed manual. As far as diesel goes, Hyundai will introduce a 1.2-litre powerplant that will deliver 75hp and 190Nm of torque, and will be paired to a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.

The new compact sedan from Hyundai, which saw its world premier in Chennai last month, will be positioned in a crowded segment that will see it rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and the Ford Aspire. Booking amount for the Aura has been set at Rs 10,000, with deliveries expected to commence by end of this month.
