FCA Airflow Vision, Fiat Centoventi concepts to be showcased at CES 2020

At the upcoming 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2020), Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is set to showcase a pair of concepts, along with Jeep’s upcoming plug-in hybrid models.

Starting with the concepts, the CES will see the debut of a new Airflow Vision. Revealed in official images, the concept will feature a sleek and sporty exterior design, with wheels pushed to the corners to maximise wheelbase. The cabin carries a minimalist theme, with four individual seats and a digital heavy dashboard with multiple displays and touches surfaces.

Another concept being showcased will be the Fiat Centoventi, which made its debut at the 2019 Geneva motor show. The EV concept previews the next generation of Fiat’s panda hatchback and was said to be highly customisable, with a range of coloured roof, bumper and wheel options, along with bodywork wraps. Driving range varied between 100km and 500km, depending on the size of the battery pack.

Moving to production models, the company has said that Jeep will be showcasing the plug-in hybrid iterations of the Wrangler, Compass and Renegade. While the company has said that it will reveal more details of the models later in the year at the upcoming motor shows, the company has confirmed that these PHEV models will wear a new ‘4Xe’ badge. The carmaker has also said that these models will offer greater torque and more immediate engine responses.

Aside from the models on display, FCA will also be offering a 4x4 virtual reality experience at its stand to allow people to experience the MOAB Hell’s Revenge trail. Customers will be able to experience the trail via a specially set-up Wrangler body sitting on hydraulic actuators, simulating the body movements of the SUV manoeuvring through the trail. Interestingly, the company has said that the tech will provide a preview of what to expect from the Wrangler PHEV.

The CES opens its doors to the public on January 7, 2020, at the Las Vegas Convention Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada.
