BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 launched at Rs 1.65 lakh

Royal Enfield has announced prices for the BS6-compliant version of the Classic 350. Priced at Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the BS6 Classic 350 with dual-channel ABS costs about Rs 11,000 more than the outgoing BS4 version that came with dual-channel ABS.

Along with the upgrades to the engine – in the form of a fuel-injection system that replaces the carburettor on the BS4 model – to make it comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms, the updated Classic 350 also gets two new colour options: Stealth Black and Chrome Black. The previously offered Signals Airborne Blue, Signals Stormrider Sand, Gunmetal Grey and Classic Black paint options will continue to be available. Bikes painted Stealth Black or Gunmetal Grey will come with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres as standard.

The BS4 Classic 350’s 346cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine was tuned to produce 19.8hp and 28Nm of torque. While RE has not yet revealed the output figures for the BS6 model, it has said the Electronic Fuel Injection system will help improve refinement, drivability and the ability to consistently start in the cold. The brand also claims power and torque delivery are tuned and optimised to deliver better performance.

The bike maker has also taken this opportunity to roll out a new aftersales service initiative for all its BS6 models – the package includes a three-year warranty and three years of roadside assistance.

Bookings for the BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 had begun yesterday, for an amount of Rs 10,000.
