Lexus LC500h to be priced from Rs 2.80 crore on road

Lexus has added a niche offering – the LC500h coupe – to its current India line-up of sedans and SUVs. We can confirm that the model will be priced from Rs 2.80 crore (on road), which is higher than that of its potential rivals like the Jaguar F-Type 2.0 (Rs 1.18-1.21 crore) and the Audi RS5 Coupe (Rs 1.37 crore).

The LC500h will also be showcased at Lexus’ showrooms in the coming days, while deliveries for the coupe will begin in late-March 2020. India will get the facelifted model that Lexus revealed in 2018.

Lexus’ two-seat luxury coupe is more a grand tourer than a sportscar. Like the carmaker’s other models in India (barring the LX), the LC500h coupe has been brought to India with a hybrid powertrain; it’s available with a 477hp, 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine in international markets. The car coming to India will get a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine (generating at 300hp and 348Nm of torque) that works in conjunction with an electric motor. The total system output of 354hp is sent to the rear wheels via a clever piece of Japanese engineering that combines a 4-speed automatic with a CVT. When used in manual mode, this allows the driver to choose from a total of 10 ‘gears’.

Standard kit on the LC500h luxury coupe includes a 10.3-inch infotainment system that’s controlled by a touchpad next to the gear lever, a digital instrument cluster and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. With its green credentials, striking looks, luxurious interiors, and Toyota-Lexus’ track record of providing a good ownership experience, the LC500h is sure to appeal to luxury car buyers.

All prices are on-road, India
