Ford India has announced a novel initiative for making the process of vehicle purchase and the experience of car ownership hassle free for customers with special physical needs. As part of the programme, the company has assured to uphold the warranty of vehicles owned by the specially-abled and retrofitted with regional transport office (RTO) approved, aftermarket, driver assistance kits.
Furthermore, Ford is also offering exclusive finance schemes with special interest rates, assistance in documentation and co-ordination with relevant authorities for availing excise tax waivers and insurance concessions for differently-able customers.
Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Vinay Raina, executive director, marketing, sales and service, Ford India, said, “At Ford, we’re committed to having a positive impact on the world, while continuing to build a successful business.” He went on to add, “With our announcement today, we look to not help but empower differently-abled people to get behind the wheel of their favourite Ford without worrying about warranty or the cost of service.”
The American automaker currently retails the Figo hatchback, Aspire sedan, Freestyle crossover and SUVs like the EcoSport and Endeavour as part of its mass market range in India. All vehicles are offered with a 2-year/1,00,000 km factory warranty as standard, though there are extended warranty plans available as well.
Earlier this year, Ford announced a joint venture with home-grown automaker Mahindra. Leveraging the synergies of the partnership, Ford has a number of products in the pipeline for our market, including a Marazzo-based MPV.
