Suzuki has just revealed the BS6-compliant Access 125. As expected, the scooter has switched its fuelling system from a carburettor to fuel-injection to meet the stringent emission norms. Like other two-wheeler companies, Suzuki has also used this opportunity to add features to the scooter. As for the pricing, it's only expected to be announced in January 2020.
For 2020, the Suzuki Access will also feature external fuel filling, an LED headlight, along with an Eco light on the speedometer. Suzuki has also said the digital screen now displays a voltage meter that indicates the battery health. What remains to be seen is if the scooter will use a fully-digital cluster or a semi-digital one.
Suzuki says the new Suzuki Access 125 will have “a long seat, enlarged floorboard, larger under-seat storage and easy start system”. Additionally, the new Special Edition model will offer a USB socket as standard.
The company has also revealed that the scooter will make 8.7hp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. For comparison, the BS4-spec Access 125 makes 8.7hp at 7,000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. While the power figure remains the same, torque has gone down by 0.2Nm. What the company is yet to reveal are the specifications (bore, stroke and cubic capacity) of the motor.
