Mahindra Bolero Power Plus Special Edition launched at Rs 9.08 lakh

In a bid to drive sales of its popular utility vehicle during the 2019 festive season, Mahindra has launched a new Bolero Power Plus Special Edition. We can confirm that the new limited-run model is priced at Rs 9.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which means it costs about Rs 22,000 more than the top-spec Bolero Power Plus ZLX, and comes with a number of cosmetic additions on the outside and inside. Interestingly, Mahindra has also confirmed that the Power Plus meets crash test norms that came into effect on October 1, which means that the brand has upgraded the structural integrity of the model, but without any design changes.

To the exterior, Mahindra has added new Special Edition decals, carpet mats, front and rear scuff plates, fog lamps and a rear spoiler with a stop light. The cabin of the limited-edition Bolero Power Plus gets new special Edition seat and steering wheel covers.

While Mahindra’s Bolero Power Plus became India’s first utility vehicle to be certified as BS6-compliant, the model on sale continues to use the BS4-spec 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that makes 71hp and 195Nm of peak torque. The BS6 model will go on sale in early 2020.

An update in July, which increased prices by about Rs 30,000, saw all variants of the model gain safety features such as a driver’s side airbag, ABS rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminders for the driver and front passenger, a speed warning system and a manual override for the central locking system.
