Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder launched at Rs 4.1 crore

Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Evo Spyder in India, with prices starting from Rs 4.1 crore. The drop-top version of the Huracan Evo joins its Coupe sibling that went on sale in India in Ferbruary at Rs 3.73 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Spyder shares its mechanicals with the Huracan Evo Coupe. It is powered by the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine that puts out 640hp and 600Nm of torque and comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The Spyder also gets the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) chassis control system, rear-wheel steering and torque vectoring system as the Coupe. Lamborghini claims a 0-100kph time of just 3.1sec – 0.2sec slower than the coupĂ© – while top speed is identical at 323kph.

Thanks to the Spyder’s soft-top roof mechanism, it weighs 120kg more than the Coupe. The roof utilizes an electro-hydraulic set-up which lowers it in 17 seconds, up to a speed of 50kph. Automatic pop-up rollover bars are placed behind the seats, while the rear window can be retracted electrically, whether the roof is up or down. It also features revised styling for the rear deck to accommodate the folding roof, and a revised engine cover. Buyers can also customize the Spyder as per their taste, with Lamborghini offering plenty of optional extras.

2019 has been a good year for the Italian manufacturer in India. Apart from launching the two iterations of the Huracan Evo, Lamborghini India also delivered its 50th Urus and the only Aventador SVJ 63 in the country. As for rivals, the Huracan Evo Spyder competes with the Ferrari 488 Spider and the Audi R8 Spyder.
