Tata Motors introduces Pro package for its cars and SUVs

As the festive season gets underway, Tata Motors is aiming to lure customers back into its showrooms with updated offerings, even as buyer sentiment continues to dip in the face of the slowdown. Only a few weeks ago, it came out with the Harrier Dark Edition, followed by the 2019 Nexon Kraz and a 5-year extended warranty package for the Harrier. Now, Tata has launched the Pro package for the Nexon, Harrier, Hexa, Tiago and Tigor, which is essentially an accessory bundle from Tata Motors Genuine Accessories, customised for each model.

The Pro package range starts at Rs 30,000 for the Tata Tiago, and includes a pop-up sunroof, magnetic sunshades, a rear armrest, mood lighting and a reverse camera with the display integrated into the rear-view mirror. The Pro package for the Tata Tigor costs the same amount of money and gets the same added goodies as the Tiago Pro, but instead of a reverse camera, the Tigor Pro gets a vehicle tracking system.

For the Tata Nexon, the Pro pack costs Rs 38,000, and in addition to the features seen on the Tigor Pro, it also gets an app-based tyre monitoring system and front parking sensors. At Rs 1 lakh, the Pro package for the Tata Hexa ditches the Nexon’s pop-up sunroof for an automatic sunroof, and also adds a smartphone holder. Wrapping things up is the Pro pack for the Tata Harrier, which costs Rs 1.1 lakh, and includes Harrier badging on the bonnet, a chrome finish for the humanity line and faux chrome exhaust tips, in addition to all the features available with the Hexa Pro pack.

It’s worth noting that Tata Motors recently introduced a sunroof as an official accessory for the Harrier, priced at Rs 95,100 (excluding installation charges).

To counter the sales slowdown, Tata Motors has been offering heavy discounts on its entire range, including the Harrier. The company also recently announced its future models will feature the what3words addressing system, which will enable drivers to enter a three-word address using voice or text, and then navigate to the accurate address within three metres of the destination location.

Tata Motors also took the covers off of its electric vehicle technology ‘Ziptron’, and the first Tata EV to utilise this tech will be launched in India early in 2020.
