Discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh available on Hyundai hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs

For the ninth consecutive month, the Indian automotive sector saw a substantial decline in July 2019. Sales for Hyundai, the country's second-largest automaker, took a considerable hit of about 10.3 percent. In an effort to boost retails and reduce inventory, the Korean brand has authorised dealers to offer sizeable discounts on its range of vehicles in the month of August 2019. Interestingly, the benefits have not been extended to the VenueCreta and the Kona Electric, which seem to be holding their own in these trying times.

Read on to find out how much you can save on the purchase of your next Hyundai vehicle.

Hyundai Elantra

Save up to Rs 2.05 lakh
Except minor feature additions, the Hyundai Elantra has been on sale in India in the current avatar since 2016. The Toyota CorollaSkoda Octavia and Honda Civic rival gets the choice between a 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine, with either a manual or an automatic transmission. Set to be updated in the near future, the current-gen Elantra is being offered with a cash discount of up to Rs 1.30 lakh and an exchange bonus of Rs 75,000.

Hyundai Tucson

Save up to Rs 1.05 lakh

The Hyundai Tucson SUV is known for its attractive design and an extensive features list; and is the carmaker’s flagship offering in the domestic market. Scheduled for a facelift in the coming months, the existing Tucson is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 1.05 lakh, including a Rs 30,000 cash discount and Rs 75,000 exchange offer. The midsize SUV goes up against the likes of the Jeep Compass and Honda CR-V with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine offerings under the hood; and all but the base variants are equipped with an auto gearbox. The top-spec diesel also comes loaded with an all-wheel drive system.

Hyundai Xcent

Save up to Rs 1 lakh
With the Maruti Suzuki Dzire ruling the sales charts and the Honda Amaze raking in decent figures too, the Hyundai Xcent compact sedan has been facing stiff competition in its segment. It's no wonder then that the Hyundai is being offered with cash benefits to the tune of Rs 65,000, in addition to exchange discounts of Rs 35,000. Right now, the Xcent gets a pair of 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines with the option of an automatic on the former. This may change soon, as Hyundai's also readying it for a major overhaul next year.

Hyundai Grand i10

Save up to Rs 95,000
Xcent’s hatchback sibling, the Hyundai Grand i10, is just days away from getting a full model change. Still, opting for the current-gen car (which is decently equipped nonetheless) can help you save up to Rs 95,000 in the form of a Rs 65,000 cash benefit and a Rs 30,000 exchange bonus. The Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo rival comes with the same powertrain choices as the Xcent, in addition to the option of a CNG variant.

Hyundai Santro

Save up to Rs 50,000
The next generation of Hyundai’s most affordable offering, the Santro, might not have received the kind of response the automaker had hoped for. Still, with a decent equipment list, its well-designed cabin layout and its smooth AMT gearbox option, it is a hatchback worth considering. Prospective buyers can avail cash discounts of up to Rs 20,000, along with an exchange bonus of Rs 30,000 (if the older car is a Santro or Eon) or Rs 20,000 (otherwise). The Santro, which dukes it out with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata Tiago in our market, gets a 1.1-litre petrol engine mated to either a manual or an auto transmission. It even gets the convenience of a factory-fitted CNG kit.

Hyundai Verna

Save up to Rs 65,000
The Verna is Hyundai’s answer to the popular Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City. The midsize sedan is available with a vast variety of powertrain options, including a pair of 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol motors and similar capacity diesel engines, with the extended convenience of an automatic on the larger engines. Choosing the Verna over its rivals this month can help you save up to Rs 65,000 in the form of exchange benefits.

Hyundai Elite i20

Save up to Rs 75,000
The Hyundai Elite i20 received a mid-life facelift last year which brought with it refreshed styling and the option of a CVT automatic gearbox on the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1.4-litre diesel-manual combination continued into the facelift unchanged. Being a popular alternative to the Maruti Suzuki BalenoToyota Glanza and Honda Jazz, the Elite i20 is currently being offered with discounts and benefits to the tune of Rs 75,000 at most dealerships. The premium hatchback is also due for an update next year.
