CFMoto 650 range priced from Rs 3.99 lakh

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto along with its India-based partner AMW motorcycles has launched the AMW CFMoto 650NK, 650MT and 650GT bikes in India. These motorcycles are priced at Rs 3.99 lakh, Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 5.49 lakh, respectively. Online bookings for the bikes begin on August 5, 2019 and deliveries begin in October 2019.

These three 650s share the same frame as well as the 649.3cc, liquid-cooled, in-line twin-cylinder engine. The power and torque figures, however, are different and based on each motorcycle’s application.

CFMoto 650NK

The 650NK is the naked motorcycle line in CFMoto’s portfolio. The styling is beefier than the 300NK and it looks almost identical to the CFMoto 400NK available in international markets.

The international-spec model produces 61hp at 9,000rpm and 56Nm of torque at 7,000rpm from its parallel-twin. It’s paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Surprisingly, it gets a conventional, telescopic fork instead of the USDs seen on the 650MT, 650GT or 300NK. The rear monoshock, as mentioned above, is similar to the rest of the 650s.

The 650NK tips the scales at 206kg, making it the lightest of the lot.

CFMoto 650MT

The 650MT is the adventure-tourer of the range, characterised by its design, long travel suspension and higher ground clearance. Key differences over the other 650s include an adjustable, USD fork (140mm suspension travel), a stacked LED headlamp, an adjustable windscreen and knuckle guards on the handlebar. The seat, too, is a single-piece unit unlike the split-type seat on the 650NK and 650GT.

According to the company’s website, at 218kg (kerb), the 650MT is 12kg heavier than the 650NK and the most powerful model in the trio; its engine is tuned to produce 71hp at 8,750rpm and 62Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Also, notice that it makes its peak power at a slightly lower rpm than the other two 650s.

CFMoto 650GT

The 650GT, as the name suggests, is the sports tourer, designed for long-distance touring.  Some of the design bits that instantly grabs your attention is the large fairing, adjustable windshield (which can be raised by 60mm) LED headlamps with an L-shaped DRL and a 19-litre fuel tank.

At 795mm, the bike is lower than that of the other 650s. The international-spec 650GT’s motor produces 62.5hp at 9,000rpm and 58.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. The company says that the motor is tuned to offer a strong mid-range which reduces the need for constant gear changes to stay in the powerband. The gearing has been revised as well, since the 650GT has a larger rear sprocket as compared to the 650NK and 650MT.

The 38mm KYB telescopic fork has been tuned to offer a supple ride and the damping on the rear monoshock had also been changed to offer a comfortable ride.

Other 650GT specific features include a 5.0-inch TFT digital instrument panel that features two layouts (Touring and Sports), a USB charging port and a 12V power socket to charge smartphones.

All CFMoto models come with a standard two-year warranty; and an extended five-year warranty is also on offer.
