After the Discover and Platina, Bajaj has also gone ahead and equipped the CT model with its 115cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine. While it's not official yet, the entry-level commuter has already begun reaching select dealerships. Called the Bajaj CT110, it is available in two variants – the kick-start (Rs 38,300) and electric-start (Rs 44,500) ex showroom, Pune. The on-road prices, meanwhile, are Rs 53,261 for the kick start model and Rs 56,781 for the electric start variant.
At these prices, the CT110 costs around Rs 3,000-6,000 (depending on the variant) more than the CT100. The CT110 is most likely running the 115cc motor that first made its debut on the Discover and then made its way to the Platina late last year. Of the three models, the CT110 is set to be the most affordable model with that engine; meanwhile, while the Platina sits in the middle, priced between Rs 53,376-55,373 (ex-showroom Delhi). On the Platina, this engine puts out 8.6hp and 9.81Nm of torque. While the power figures may most likely remain the same, the CT110 is not expected to get the 5-speed gearbox from the Platina. It will, instead, use a 4-speed unit with an all-down gear-shift pattern.
The CT110 is slightly different from the CT100 when it comes to cosmetics as well, the bike now features a rubber tank-pad similar to the one found on the TVS Radeon. The engine, gearbox, fork and wheels have also been blacked-out on the new model. The images we have received reveal that the bike now has larger crash guards, rubber mirror covers, an upswept exhaust and thicker padding on the seat.
Bajaj has also equipped the CT110 with fork gaiters and interestingly, “semi-knobby” tyres, which the company claims will enable “a firm and stable grip on the toughest of roads”. Another small change is the marginal increase in ground clearance, taking the total to 170mm.
The Bajaj CT110 will be available in three colours – Matte olive green (with yellow decals), Gloss ebony black (with blue decals) and Gloss flame red (with bright red decals). Dealers we spoke to have suggested that the CT110 will be available in less than a week.
