Advice on buying a new compact SUV

I was planning to buy a Ford EcoSport Petrol 1.5, but with Ford’s announcement of a partial exit from India, would it be a safe purchase? I want to keep the car for the next seven years. I have not found any other vehicle that’s on par with EcoSport, in terms of specifications. I am considering the Maruti Brezza petrol 1.5, but its launch isn’t announced.

AAA - Firstly, the news that Ford is partially exiting from India is completely wrong. What Ford is doing is selling a part of its manufacturing facilities to Mahindra so that it can use the money saved on launching newer products. If anything, Ford should be a stronger player as it won’t have the drain of the manufacturing overheads like before. Coming to the Ford EcoSport 1.5 petrol, it’s a superb product with a smooth and efficient engine but there is a lot more competition in the compact SUV segment. The recently launched Hyundai Venue is worth considering.
