Bajaj appears to be finally ready to equip its line-up with ABS. According to a dealer source, the newest models to join the ABS-equipped Bajaj line-up is the Pulsar 150 range. This includes the Neon ABS which is priced at Rs 68,250, the standard Pulsar 150 ABS that costs Rs 84,461 and the top-spec Pulsar 150 Twin Disc which is pegged at Rs 88,339 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
The increase in cost for the single-channel equipment varies from model to model. The hike on the most affordable model, the Neon, is the lowest at around Rs 3,000; while the standard Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc witnessed an increase of around Rs 7,000. The dealer also told us that the ABS-equipped Pulsar 150 Twin Disc has already reached showrooms, while the other two variants will make their way to showrooms in the coming weeks.
The only variant of the Pulsar 150 to still miss out on the safety tech is the Classic. But we may see Bajaj phase out the Classic, as the Neon is essentially the same motorcycle with a different colour scheme.
Interestingly, at Rs 68,250, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon will become one of the most affordable motorcycles with ABS in India.
Powering the Pulsar 150 range is a 149.5cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 14hp at 8,000rpm and 13.4Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
