New Maruti Suzuki Wagon R variants explained

Newly received details of Maruti Suzuki’s new Wagon R, show that the rival to the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and Datsun Go will be better-equipped – variant for variant. The new tall-boy hatchback has been comprehensively updated – a new more powerful engine option, more equipment and safety features – and comes with seven variants to choose from.

Here’s a look at the variants on offer:

Maruti Suzuki’s new Wagon R is expected to be a much stronger rival now. The new tall-boy hatchback nearly matches the Tata Tiago in terms of outright power, thanks to the new 83hp, 1.2-litre engine, and is as well-specced as rivals, including the Datsun Go and Hyundai Santro.

While prices will be revealed on February 23, 2019, expect the new Wagon R to carry a Rs 4.5-6.5 lakh price tag at launch.
