Hyundai has updated the Creta for 2019 by adding to the SUV’s equipment list and introducing a new top-spec variant – the SX (O) Executive. The Creta is now available in a total of six variants, ranging from the base E trim to the range-topping SX (O) Executive.
On the outside, the refreshed model gets LED tail-lamps at the rear on the higher-spec SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive trims. The SX variant also gets a dual-tone colour scheme for its manual variants.
On the inside, the air conditioner gets eco-coating across all variants and the car will be available with a smart key band in the higher-spec SX (O) and SX (O) Executive trims. The range-topping SX (O) Executive trim also gets ventilated seats at the front.
The 2019 Creta gets more safety kit as standard than the outgoing model – like rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminder and speed alert system – across all its variants.
The refreshed SUV will be available with the same three engine options as its predecessor. The 1.6-litre petrol mill puts out 125hp and 151Nm of torque, while the 91hp, 1.4-litre and 130hp, 1.6-litre diesel motors produce 219Nm and 260Nm of torque, respectively.
The new Creta gets the 1.6 petrol on the E, E+, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive variants. And while the 1.6 diesel is available in the S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive, the 1.4 diesel comes only on the E+ and S trims. The automatic gearbox is paired only with the 1.6 diesel S, and both petrol and diesel SX variants.
It is interesting to note that on the S trim, the lower-powered 1.4-litre diesel can only be had paired to a manual gearbox while the 1.6-litre diesel S variant does not have a manual option at all.
