Jeep will add two new models in the Indian market in future. While the company is readying India launches of the Compass Trailhawk and the next-gen Wrangler, it is also said to be working on two more models that'll be introduced later.
First up, there will be a new three-row SUV for our market that will come sometime in late 2021. This unnamed SUV, currently known by its codename Low-D, will sit above the Compass and will be a proper rival to the Honda CR-V and the Skoda Kodiaq in our market.
While this new SUV is still some time away, we can confirm that it will sit on Jeep’s Small Wide 4x4 platform which is widely used across FCA range. The platform also underpins the Renegade, the Compass, Fiat’s Toro pickup sold in South America and the Fiat 500X. With this new three-row SUV, Jeep will aim for an aggressive pricing, similar to what it did with the Compass launch in India, thanks to increased localisation.
Jeep will also bring in a new sub-four-metre compact SUV in India in 2022.
