TVS Jupiter Grande launched at Rs 55,936

TVS Motor Company has launched the new top-spec Grande variant of its Jupiter scooter in India, today. While the drum brake version has been priced at Rs 55,936, the disc brake version retails for Rs 59,648 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

While the Grande’s basic styling remains similar to the standard Jupiter, it features an LED headlight, semi-digital instrument console and diamond-cut alloy wheels (only on the disc brake variant). It also gets a new seat cover with quilt-like finish, along with beige-coloured inner panels. The top-spec Jupiter variant features an adjustable monoshock, but the telescopic fork is similar to the standard scooter’s. The Grande will also be offered in a special blue shade called ‘Starlight Blue’.

Commenting on this launch, Aniruddha Haldar, vice president (marketing) – commuter motorcycles, scooters & corporate brand, TVS Motor Company, said, “The TVS Jupiter Grande is the latest in the series of annual special editions that TVS Jupiter brings for its customers. It gets grand features like LED tech headlamp, adjustable shocks, digital-analogue speedometer, diamond-cut alloy wheels and the striking Starlight Blue colour.”

The Jupiter Grande will carry forward features such as an external fuel filler cap, reserve fuel indicator, underseat mobile charger, parking brake and pass light switch from the standard two-wheeler. Powering the scooter is a 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 8hp and 8Nm of peak torque. It competes with the Honda Activa 5G, Hero Maestro Edge and the Yamaha Ray-Z.
