Hyundai Verna automatic to get two new variants

Hyundai will soon add two new variants to its Verna automatic line-up. The latest-gen Verna was launched in India in 2017 and the company had also recently announced a special Verna anniversary edition.

Until now, the current-gen Verna automatic was not available in top-spec trim and according to dealers, there’s notable demand for a more feature-heavy automatic variant. Bearing this in mind, Hyundai will soon add an SX+ trim for the Verna petrol-automatic and an SX (O) variant for the Verna diesel-automatic.

In terms of features, Hyundai is likely to add a smart key with push-button start and wireless charging on the SX+ petrol-automatic, while the SX (O) diesel-automatic will get wireless charging.

The Verna SX+ petrol-automatic will cost around Rs 35,000 more than the SX, while the Verna SX (O) diesel-automatic will cost roughly Rs 20,000 more than the SX.

The Verna automatic is available only with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options.  It rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Rapid diesel auto variants.
